Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granules with standard Western medical treatment for the management of stable angina pectoris in patients with coronary heart disease. The protocol, evaluated by Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, utilizes two specific TCM formulations: Louxiangdan Tongxin granules and Chixiangshen Tongxin granules. Louxiangdan Tongxin is designed to invigorate the spleen, remove phlegm, and activate blood to dissolve stasis, containing herbs such as Danshen, Gualou, and Xiebai. Chixiangshen Tongxin is formulated to invigorate the spleen, replenish Qi, and activate blood, featuring herbs like Chishao, Huangqi, and Dangshen. These TCM interventions are administered alongside a Western basis treatment consisting of antiplatelet therapy (Aspirin or Clopidogrel), lipid-lowering statins (Atorvastatin), and Nitroglycerin as needed for acute symptom relief. The combination aims to provide synergistic effects by addressing both the physiological symptoms and the underlying TCM syndrome patterns associated with stable angina.
