TCR-T cell therapy (Guangzhou 8th People's Hospital) is an investigational adoptive cell therapy being developed for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. This approach involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a specific T-cell receptor (TCR) capable of recognizing HIV-1 antigens presented by MHC molecules on the surface of infected cells. In clinical trials conducted by Guangzhou 8th People's Hospital, this TCR-T therapy is evaluated in combination with Chidamide, a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor acting as a latency-reversing agent. The therapeutic strategy aims to "shock and kill" the latent HIV-1 reservoir by using Chidamide to induce viral expression in dormant cells, which are then targeted and eliminated by the engineered TCR-T cells. This combination therapy is intended to reduce the viral reservoir and potentially lead to a functional cure for HIV-1.
