This is an investigational vaccine regimen developed by Sanofi Pasteur, consisting of the concurrent administration of a combined tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis, and inactivated poliomyelitis vaccine (Tdap-IPV, specifically TdcP-IPV or Adacel-Polio) and a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine. The regimen is intended for use in adolescents (aged 11-14 years) to provide comprehensive protection against five diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and hepatitis B. The Tdap-IPV component contains tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, pertactin, and fimbriae types 2 and 3), and inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3. The hepatitis B component contains recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). Clinical trials have demonstrated that concurrent administration of these vaccines is safe and immunogenic, showing no clinically relevant immunologic interactions between the components.
