Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tears Again is a liposomal eye spray developed by Optima Pharmaceutical GmbH, designed to treat dry eye disease by stabilizing the tear film's lipid layer. The formulation consists of phospholipid liposomes enriched with vitamins A and E, which are applied as a spray onto closed eyelids. Upon application, the liposomes migrate across the eyelid margins to integrate into the tear film, effectively mimicking the natural function of meibomian glands and reducing tear evaporation by up to 95%. It is particularly indicated for evaporative dry eye and tear film lipid deficiency, offering a preservative-free option compatible with contact lenses.
