Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Renocis is a cold kit for the preparation of technetium (99mTc) succimer (DMSA) injection, a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical used in nuclear medicine. The kit contains succimer (dimercaptosuccinic acid) as the active ingredient, which, upon reconstitution with sodium pertechnetate (99mTc) solution, forms a technetium (99mTc) succimer complex. This radiopharmaceutical is indicated for static renal imaging, including the study of renal cortex morphology, individual kidney function, and the location of ectopic kidneys. Following intravenous administration, the technetium (99mTc) succimer complex localizes in high concentrations in the renal cortex, allowing for scintigraphic evaluation of renal parenchymal disorders.
