technetium-99m-labeled E48 F(ab')2

Technetium-99m-labeled E48 F(ab')2 is an investigational **radioimmunoscintigraphy agent** comprising the F(ab')2 antigen-binding fragment of the murine monoclonal antibody E48 labeled with technetium-99m. It binds lymphocyte antigen 6 family member D, historically called the E48 antigen, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored surface protein expressed in stratified squamous and transitional epithelia and their corresponding tumors. The agent was administered intravenously for planar gamma-camera and SPECT imaging of primary tumors and cervical lymph-node metastases in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It was evaluated clinically as a diagnostic imaging tracer rather than as a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical.
