Drug intelligence / Profile preview
*tegoprazan + atorvastatin* is a **combination therapy** consisting of tegoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), and atorvastatin, a statin. Tegoprazan suppresses gastric acid secretion by competitively inhibiting potassium binding on gastric H,K-ATPase, while atorvastatin lowers blood cholesterol levels by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. This combination is sometimes investigated for concurrent management of acid-related disorders and hyperlipidemia. Tegoprazan does not affect the pharmacokinetics of atorvastatin, unlike other P-CABs such as vonoprazan, which can increase systemic exposure of atorvastatin and risk of adverse effects by inhibiting CYP3A4[2][3][4]. Both agents are generally administered orally.
