Telminuvo is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) antihypertensive medication developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical. It combines **telmisartan**, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with **S-amlodipine** (also known as levamlodipine), the active (S)-enantiomer of the calcium channel blocker amlodipine. Telmisartan functions by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, which results in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone secretion. S-amlodipine inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells, leading to peripheral arterial vasodilation. By utilizing two distinct mechanisms of action, Telminuvo provides synergistic blood pressure reduction and is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, particularly in patients inadequately controlled by monotherapy or as initial therapy for Stage 2 hypertension.
