CKD-339 is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hypertension. It consists of three antihypertensive agents with complementary mechanisms of action: telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); levamlodipine (the active S-enantiomer of amlodipine), a calcium channel blocker (CCB); and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. By targeting three distinct physiological pathways—the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, vascular smooth muscle contraction, and renal sodium reabsorption—CKD-339 is designed to provide superior blood pressure control in patients who are not adequately controlled by dual therapy. The drug was approved in South Korea under the brand name Telmitrend S-CT following clinical trials that demonstrated its efficacy and safety compared to dual combinations of its components.
