Tenecteplase + albumin is a combination of two agents: tenecteplase, a genetically engineered recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), and albumin, a plasma protein often used as an excipient or stabilizer in pharmaceutical formulations. Tenecteplase acts as a fibrinolytic by binding to fibrin-rich clots and converting plasminogen to plasmin, which then degrades the fibrin matrix of thrombi. This mechanism underlies its use in acute myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke for rapid clot dissolution. Albumin does not have direct pharmacological activity in this context but may be included to stabilize the formulation or improve drug delivery characteristics[2][5][6]. There is no evidence that "tenecteplase + albumin" is marketed as a unique branded combination; rather, some tenecteplase products may contain human albumin as an excipient.
