Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KUFTIN-SF is a sugar-free, multi-ingredient expectorant and bronchodilator syrup developed and marketed by Vin Medicament. It is designed for the management of productive cough associated with various respiratory conditions, including bronchial asthma, acute and chronic bronchitis, and other obstructive airway diseases. The combination therapy utilizes four active components: terbutaline, a selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist that facilitates bronchodilation; ambroxol, a mucolytic agent that reduces mucus viscosity and enhances surfactant production; guaifenesin, an expectorant that increases the volume of respiratory tract secretions to aid their removal; and menthol, which provides a cooling effect and acts as a mild local anesthetic to relieve throat irritation. As a sugar-free formulation, KUFTIN-SF is specifically intended for patients who must monitor their glycemic levels, such as those with diabetes mellitus.
