Overview
CanSino Biologics' Tdcp (also known as Td5cp) is an adsorbed, combined vaccine containing tetanus toxoid, reduced-dose diphtheria toxoid, and a five-component acellular pertussis component. The pertussis component is distinguished by the inclusion of five antigens: pertussis toxin (PT), filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), pertactin (PRN), and fimbriae types 2 and 3 (FIM 2/3), whereas many existing Tdap vaccines contain fewer pertussis antigens. Developed as a booster for individuals aged 6 years and older, Tdcp aims to address the lack of licensed pertussis-containing booster vaccines for this age group in China. The vaccine has completed Phase III clinical testing, demonstrating immunogenicity and safety, and its New Drug Application (NDA) was accepted by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2024.
