Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination vaccine containing tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid, acellular pertussis components (DTaP), and inactivated poliovirus (IPV). It is designed to protect against four serious diseases: tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and polio. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against these pathogens without causing disease. It is administered intramuscularly and primarily indicated for children aged 4 to 6 years as part of their routine immunization schedule[2][4][9]. The combination reduces the number of injections required while maintaining strong immunogenicity for all included antigens.
