**Tetracycline + metronidazole** is an oral antibacterial co-administration regimen composed of two established small-molecule antibiotics. Tetracycline is a bacteriostatic tetracycline-class agent that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, while metronidazole is a nitroimidazole prodrug that is reduced in susceptible anaerobic organisms, generating reactive intermediates that damage DNA. The pair is used as part of bismuth-containing quadruple regimens with a proton-pump inhibitor for eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection; it is not itself a unique fixed-dose product because standard bismuth quadruple therapy also includes bismuth and acid suppression.
