Drug intelligence / Profile preview
tetrahydrocannabinol + cannabidiol-Hartford Hospital is an investigational combination of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) delivered via vaporized marijuana plant material. Developed by Hartford Hospital's Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center, this combination is being studied to evaluate the effects of different THC:CBD ratios on memory-related neurochemistry and neural responses in healthy occasional cannabis users. The research specifically investigates how CBD may attenuate THC-induced memory impairments by modulating the endocannabinoid system and glutamate neurotransmission in brain regions associated with memory, using advanced imaging techniques like fMRI and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
