Overview

A combination of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis, and iomazenil, an iodine analog of the benzodiazepine receptor antagonist flumazenil. This combination has been studied in research settings to investigate how GABA deficits affect the psychotomimetic effects of THC. Research has shown that iomazenil enhances the psychosis-like effects of THC, suggesting an interaction between GABAergic and cannabinoid systems in the brain.
