tezepelumab + peanut oral immunotherapy

Tezepelumab is a human monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), an epithelial-derived cytokine that plays a central role in the initiation and persistence of type 2 inflammatory responses. In the context of the ZENITH Phase 2 clinical trial sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), tezepelumab is being evaluated as an adjunct to peanut oral immunotherapy (OIT) for the treatment of peanut allergy. The rationale for this combination is that inhibiting TSLP may suppress the allergic cascade, thereby improving the safety and efficacy of OIT and potentially inducing sustained unresponsiveness to peanut allergens. Tezepelumab is already approved under the brand name Tezspire for the treatment of severe asthma.
