Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thera-103 is a secretome-based biologic device developed by Theratome Bio for ex vivo organ preservation during transplantation. The product consists of a complex mixture of growth factors, cytokines, therapeutic proteins, micro-RNAs, extracellular vesicles (exosomes), and metabolites derived from adipose-derived stem cells. It is designed as an additive to standard transplantation preservation solutions and is flushed through organs during transit to mitigate ischemia-reperfusion injury and extend organ viability. Preclinical data indicates that Thera-103 may double the shelf life of transplanted organs, specifically hearts and kidneys, from four to eight hours. The product is being evaluated as a biologic device under FDA CBER oversight.
