Theravac is an investigational **therapeutic melanoma vaccine** developed by Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc and Université Catholique de Louvain. It comprises a genetically detoxified recombinant *Bordetella pertussis* adenylate cyclase toxin protein vector coupled through its catalytic site to the HLA-A2-restricted tyrosinase epitope YMDGTMSQV. The vector targets CD11b-positive antigen-presenting cells through integrin alpha-M beta-2, enabling processing and MHC class I presentation of the tyrosinase epitope and induction of tyrosinase-specific cytotoxic T-cell responses against melanoma cells.
