Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thermella is a non-hormonal, non-prescription botanical dietary supplement developed by Bonafide Health (a subsidiary of Pharmavite) for the management of menopausal vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats. It is formulated as a proprietary blend of three key naturally derived ingredients: optimized curcumin extract, decaffeinated green tea extract, and spirulina extract. Thermella acts as a neurokinin 3 receptor (NK3R) antagonist, blocking the neurokinin B (NKB) pathway in the brain's thermoregulatory center (the hypothalamus) to restore temperature balance. This mechanism of action is similar to that of prescription NK3R antagonists like fezolinetant (Veozah), but Thermella offers a drug-free, over-the-counter alternative with rapid onset of action, typically showing efficacy within two weeks.
