Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neeforte-ET is a fixed-dose combination drug containing thiocolchicoside and etoricoxib, marketed by Aar Ess Remedies. Etoricoxib is a highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with a complex mechanism of action involving competitive antagonism of GABA-A receptors and agonism of glycine receptors, which helps alleviate painful muscle spasms. This combination is primarily indicated for the management of acute pain associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and muscle spasms. It is marketed as a branded generic in the Indian pharmaceutical market.
