**ticagrelor + BMS-986141** is a combination of two antithrombotic agents. Ticagrelor is a *P2Y12 receptor antagonist* that inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation, while BMS-986141 is a novel, orally bioavailable, highly selective *protease-activated receptor-4 (PAR4) antagonist*. When used together, they demonstrate additive antithrombotic effects by targeting separate pathways of platelet activation: ticagrelor by blocking the P2Y12 receptor and BMS-986141 by inhibiting PAR4-mediated platelet activation. This combination has been investigated for enhanced reduction of thrombus formation, especially in patients with coronary artery disease and during high shear stress conditions. BMS-986141 was developed by Bristol Myers Squibb and shows robust platelet inhibition with a low associated bleeding risk when compared to conventional antiplatelet drugs[1][2][4][6][7].
