TIDAL + RIVAL

TIDAL + RIVAL is an experimental combination immunotherapy being developed by Turnstone Biologics. This program integrates two of the company's core technologies: the TIDAL platform, which involves the isolation, selection, and expansion of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) to target a broad spectrum of patient-specific tumor antigens, and the RIVAL platform, which utilizes an engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus. The RIVAL virus is designed to selectively replicate within cancer cells, causing direct oncolysis and delivering therapeutic payloads that stimulate the immune system. By combining these modalities, Turnstone aims to use the oncolytic virus to prime the tumor microenvironment, making it more conducive to the infiltration and sustained activity of the adoptively transferred TILs, thereby overcoming common barriers to cell therapy in solid tumors.
