BrainDos nasal tirzepatide is a preclinical-stage intranasal formulation of tirzepatide developed by MetP Pharma AG. It utilizes the proprietary BrainDos™ technology, a nose-to-brain delivery platform designed to bypass the blood-brain barrier via olfactory and trigeminal nerve pathways. As a synthetic dual agonist of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors, it is being investigated for the treatment of metabolic diseases and obesity. Preclinical data suggests that this intranasal delivery enhances brain targeting and provides superior anti-inflammatory effects compared to standard aqueous solutions, potentially minimizing systemic side effects while maximizing central nervous system activity.
