Overview

Tislelizumab + nintedanib is a combination therapy being investigated as a consolidation treatment for limited-stage small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). Tislelizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that acts as a checkpoint inhibitor by binding to the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, thereby preventing it from interacting with its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2) and restoring T-cell mediated anti-tumor immune responses. Nintedanib is a small molecule triple angiokinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR 1-3), platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR alpha and beta), and fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR 1-3). By inhibiting these pathways, nintedanib suppresses tumor angiogenesis and fibroblast activity. The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University is conducting a Phase 4 exploratory study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this combination in patients who have completed concurrent chemoradiotherapy for LS-SCLC.
