Overview

Tivozanib + capecitabine is a combination of two oral small molecule drugs used in oncology, primarily for the treatment of advanced cancers. Tivozanib is a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR)-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor growth[6][8]. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug that is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in the body; it interferes with DNA synthesis by inhibiting thymidylate synthase, leading to inhibition of cancer cell proliferation[4][2]. This combination may be explored in clinical trials for synergistic effects against certain solid tumors.
