Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TMN-1 is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula consisting of a mixture of three standardized herbal preparations: Jia-Wei-Xiao-Yao-San (JWXYS), Zhi-Bai-Di-Huang-Wan (ZBDHW), and Xiang-Sha-Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang (XSLJZT). It was developed and evaluated by the National Taiwan University Hospital as an alternative to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for the management of menopausal symptoms, specifically hot flushes. The formula combines herbs traditionally used to soothe the liver, clear heat, nourish kidney yin, and strengthen the spleen and stomach. Clinical evaluation has focused on its safety and efficacy in reducing the frequency and severity of hot flushes as measured by the Kupperman Menopause Index.
