Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TNM002 is a first-in-class, fully human monoclonal antibody that specifically neutralizes tetanus toxin. It is developed using Trinomab’s proprietary HitmAb technology platform and is indicated for the emergency prevention of tetanus, particularly in patients at risk after exposure to Clostridium tetani due to traumatic injury. TNM002 acts by binding tightly to specific domains of the tetanus toxin, thereby neutralizing its neurotoxic effects and preventing it from disrupting inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. Compared with traditional plasma-derived products such as human tetanus immunoglobulin (HTIG) and equine antitoxin (TAT), TNM002 offers advantages including superior efficacy, longer-lasting protection, improved safety profile with low immunogenicity, and suitability for large-scale production[1][2][4][7]. The combination of TNM002 with adsorbed tetanus vaccine has been studied to assess pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic interactions and safety in healthy adults[6]. The primary indication is prophylaxis against tetanus.
