Overview

TNP-MMP-14 + TNP-Cat-B is a combination of two theranostic nanoparticles designed for dual-enzyme activation in cancer therapy. The combination leverages the tumor-targeting and imaging capabilities of each nanoparticle to enhance tumor accumulation and therapeutic efficacy compared to monotherapy with either agent alone. Specifically, TNP-MMP-14 targets matrix metalloproteinase 14 (MMP-14), an enzyme overexpressed in various cancers and associated with tumor progression, invasion, and immune cell infiltration. TNP-Cat-B targets cathepsin B (Cat-B), another protease implicated in cancer metastasis. This dual-enzyme activated approach allows for improved image-guided drug delivery and potentially greater antitumor effects by exploiting the unique proteolytic environment of tumors[1].
