Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of four agents: **tobevibart** (a monoclonal antibody targeting hepatitis B virus surface antigen), **elebsiran** (a small interfering RNA targeting hepatitis B virus RNA), **tenofovir disoproxil fumarate** (a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor active against hepatitis B virus), and **peginterferon alfa** (a pegylated interferon with immunomodulatory and antiviral activity). The combination is under clinical evaluation for the treatment of **chronic hepatitis B** and **chronic hepatitis delta** infections. This regimen aims to maximize viral suppression and achieve functional cure by simultaneously inhibiting multiple stages of the hepatitis B virus life cycle, modulating immune response, and reducing viral antigen loads. Vir Biotechnology is the principal developer of tobevibart and elebsiran, and combination regimens are being evaluated in ongoing Phase 2 trials, including the MARCH and SOLSTICE studies.
