Overview

This is a combination ophthalmic therapy consisting of three active ingredients: - **Tobramycin** is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, providing antibacterial activity against susceptible ocular pathogens. - **Dexamethasone** is a synthetic corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators, reducing pain, redness, and swelling in the eye. - **Ketorolac** is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby decreasing prostaglandin synthesis and reducing ocular inflammation and pain. This combination has been studied for use after cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) to prevent or treat postoperative inflammation and infection. Clinical studies indicate that adding ketorolac to the established antibiotic-steroid regimen does not significantly improve outcomes related to inflammation compared with the two-drug combination[1][3][4]. The typical use involves topical administration as eye drops.
