Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of tocilizumab, an interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor antagonist, and interferon alfa-2b, an antiviral and immunomodulatory agent. Tocilizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that binds to both soluble and membrane-bound IL-6 receptors, preventing IL-6 mediated inflammation. Interferon alfa-2b works through the JAK-STAT signaling pathway to induce antiviral effects and modulate immune responses. This combination has been studied in clinical trials for various conditions, including recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer.
