Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tong-jiang granules + Chang 'an II Recipe refers to a set of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulations developed by Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal diseases (FGIDs). Tong-jiang granules are a compound Chinese medicine formulation specifically designed for patients with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) exhibiting disharmony of the liver and stomach. Chang 'an II Recipe (also known as Chang 'an II Prescription) is a granule formulation intended for patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) exhibiting disharmony of the liver and spleen. The therapeutic mechanism for both formulations involves the regulation of the intestinal flora-gut-brain axis. By addressing imbalances in the intestinal microbiota and host co-metabolism, these treatments aim to modulate gastrointestinal motility disorders and visceral hypersensitivity, which are key features of FGIDs.
