Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**TQB2618 + penpulimab** is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of advanced and metastatic cancers, particularly recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. TQB2618 is a monoclonal antibody targeting TIM-3 (T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain containing-3), an immune checkpoint implicated in tumor immune evasion. Penpulimab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1); it blocks PD-1/PD-L1 interactions, thereby restoring antitumor immune response. In this combination, TQB2618 is aimed at further relieving immune suppression, while penpulimab potentiates T-cell activity by blocking PD-1. This combination is being studied for its safety and efficacy and is currently in phase II clinical trials for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and phase I/II for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma[1][3]. TQB2618 is developed by Chia Tai Tianqing (part of Sino Biopharmaceutical), while penpulimab is developed by Akeso and Chia Tai Tianqing[6].
