Overview

A four-drug combination under investigation for the treatment of recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma, composed of: - **TQB2618:** a monoclonal antibody targeting TIM-3, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. - **Penpulimab:** a monoclonal antibody targeting PD-1, functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. - **Gemcitabine:** a nucleoside analog acting as an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis and cell death. - **Cisplatin:** a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis. The combination is explored to enhance antitumor immunity by dual checkpoint inhibition and to maximize cytotoxicity with chemotherapeutics. The combination is being evaluated in a phase II clinical trial in newly treated and previously treated patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma[1][3][5].
