Overview

Tranexamic acid + haemocoagulase agkistrodon is a combination drug used primarily to reduce perioperative blood loss in surgical settings, especially in orthopedic and urological surgeries. Tranexamic acid is a synthetic antifibrinolytic agent that competitively inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby preventing fibrin degradation and stabilizing blood clots[2][4]. Haemocoagulase agkistrodon is a proteolytic enzyme complex derived from the venom of the Agkistrodon snake species; it acts as a hemostatic agent by promoting coagulation through thrombin-like and thromboplastin-like activities, accelerating fibrin formation at bleeding sites[6][7]. The combination leverages both antifibrinolytic (tranexamic acid) and procoagulant (haemocoagulase) mechanisms for synergistic reduction of blood loss during surgery. Clinical studies indicate that this combination can significantly decrease intraoperative and postoperative bleeding compared to either agent alone, with no major adverse effects reported in short-term use[1][5].
