Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of three agents: trastuzumab, docetaxel, and bevacizumab. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), inhibiting HER2-mediated signaling and promoting antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Docetaxel is a small molecule chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules, thereby inhibiting cell division. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), preventing its interaction with VEGF receptors and thus inhibiting angiogenesis. This combination has been studied primarily in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, where it has shown clinical activity but no significant overall survival benefit compared to standard regimens[1][2][3][4].
