Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Trastuzumab + IR700 is a combination consisting of the monoclonal antibody **trastuzumab** conjugated with the near-infrared (NIR) photosensitizer IR700, designed for targeted photoimmunotherapy of HER2-expressing cancers. The drug binds specifically to the HER2 protein on cancer cells. When exposed to NIR light, the IR700 moiety produces phototoxicity and induces targeted cell death. The therapy enables precise fluorescence imaging and selective ablation of HER2-positive tumors. Trastuzumab + IR700 has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models for HER2-expressing gastric and breast cancers, with improved anti-tumor effects when combined with similar agents (e.g., pertuzumab-IR700). The primary indication is molecularly targeted therapy for HER2-positive cancers, typically breast and gastric cancer[1][2][3].
