Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Trastuzumab + IRDye800CW (also known as Tz-800) is an investigational optical imaging conjugate composed of the humanized monoclonal antibody trastuzumab and the near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dye IRDye800CW. It is designed for fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) and intraoperative imaging of HER2-positive tumors, including breast, gastric, and esophageal cancers. By targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), the agent allows for real-time visualization of tumor margins and metastatic lymph nodes using NIR fluorescence imaging systems. This facilitates more complete tumor resections while helping surgeons spare healthy tissue. The conjugate has been evaluated in preclinical models and is undergoing clinical translation for patient stratification and therapy monitoring.
