Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AM008 (also known as OTX-TIC) is a sustained-release, biodegradable intracameral implant containing the prostaglandin analog travoprost. Developed by AffaMed Therapeutics under a licensing agreement with Ocular Therapeutix, it is designed to provide long-term reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension for a duration of four to six months. The implant is administered via a single intracameral injection and resides in the anterior chamber, where it slowly releases the active medication. This delivery method aims to address the significant challenge of patient non-compliance associated with daily topical eye drop regimens by providing a continuous therapeutic effect from a single administration.
