Overview
The travoprost intracameral implant (Gen 2) is an investigational, long-duration procedural pharmaceutical therapy developed by Glaukos Corporation for the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It consists of a miniature, biocompatible titanium reservoir implanted into the iridocorneal angle, designed to provide continuous, around-the-clock elution of a proprietary formulation of travoprost, a prostaglandin F receptor agonist. This second-generation version is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials and is intended to build upon the first-generation iDose TR, potentially offering an even more extended duration of effect or optimized delivery to address patient non-compliance with daily topical eye drops.
