Overview
Trebananib (formerly known as AMG 386) is a peptibody that inhibits tumor angiogenesis by preventing the interaction of angiopoietin 1 and angiopoietin 2 with the Tie2 receptor. This disrupts vascular remodeling and reduces blood supply to tumors. Topotecan is a small molecule chemotherapeutic agent classified as a topoisomerase I inhibitor; it works by interfering with DNA replication in cancer cells, leading to cell death. The combination of trebananib and topotecan has been investigated in clinical trials for advanced ovarian cancer and other solid tumors[3][4][6]. Trebananib was developed by Amgen. Topotecan is marketed under the brand name Hycamtin.
