Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This topical combination anti-acne cream, developed by Sukma Skin Treatment, contains three active ingredients: tretinoin (0.05%), clindamycin (3%), and dexamethasone (0.05%). The formulation is designed to treat acne vulgaris by targeting multiple pathogenic factors simultaneously. Tretinoin is a retinoid that promotes skin cell turnover and prevents the formation of comedones by normalizing follicular keratinization. Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits the growth of *Cutibacterium acnes* (formerly *Propionibacterium acnes*) by binding to the bacterial ribosome. Dexamethasone is a potent synthetic glucocorticoid that provides anti-inflammatory effects to reduce the redness and swelling associated with acne lesions. Clinical studies conducted at the Sukma clinic in West Jakarta have evaluated this triple-combination cream in adolescent populations, demonstrating an 87.6% cure rate after four weeks of treatment in one study. The formulation is currently being investigated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to further assess its efficacy and safety.
