Drug intelligence / Profile preview
triptorelin + hCG is a combination pharmacological intervention used as a dual trigger for final oocyte maturation in assisted reproductive technology (ART). It consists of triptorelin acetate, a synthetic decapeptide agonist of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor, and recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which acts as an analog of luteinizing hormone (LH). This combination is specifically utilized in the COTRID study conducted by **Instituto Bernabeu** to optimize the second oocyte retrieval in a double ovarian stimulation (DuoStim) protocol. By combining a GnRH agonist (which induces an endogenous surge of both LH and FSH) with hCG (which provides a sustained LH-like stimulus), the treatment aims to increase the number of mature oocytes retrieved from patients classified as poor ovarian responders.
