The **trivalent influenza vaccine (split virion, inactivated) containing influenza B virus - Victoria lineage** is a seasonal influenza vaccine developed by **Instituto Butantan** in Brazil through a technology transfer partnership with **Sanofi**. It is an embryonated egg-based, inactivated, split-virion vaccine designed to provide protection against three strains of the influenza virus: two influenza A strains (H1N1 and H3N2) and one influenza B strain from the Victoria lineage. Each 0.25 mL pediatric dose contains 7.5 mcg of hemagglutinin (HA) per strain. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against the hemagglutinin surface proteins of the included viruses. It is registered by Brazil's **ANVISA** and has received **WHO prequalification**, serving as a standard of care and an active comparator in clinical trials for newer quadrivalent formulations.
