Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TRK-950 + ramucirumab + paclitaxel is a combination investigational regimen for cancer therapy. TRK-950 is a humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody that targets and binds with high affinity to CAPRIN-1 (cytoplasmic activation/proliferation-associated protein-1), which is highly expressed in the membrane of many solid tumors but not on normal tissues. TRK-950 induces tumor cell death via fragment crystallizable-mediated effector functions such as antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated phagocytosis (ADCP)[1][4]. Ramucirumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody antagonist against VEGFR-2, thus inhibiting angiogenesis[2]. Paclitaxel is a chemotherapeutic small molecule that stabilizes microtubules and inhibits their disassembly, disrupting mitosis and promoting apoptosis in cancer cells[3]. This regimen is being investigated in clinical trials for synergistic antitumor activity, particularly in advanced and refractory solid tumors, including gastrointestinal cancers[1][4].
