This tumor antigen-sensitized dendritic cell (DC) vaccine is an autologous cell therapy developed by Sichuan University for the treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The vaccine is produced by harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells and sensitizing them with tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) derived from the patient's tumor tissue. Once re-administered to the patient via subcutaneous injection, these sensitized dendritic cells present the tumor antigens to the patient's T cells, thereby priming and activating a targeted immune response against residual cancer cells. It is primarily being investigated as a postoperative adjuvant therapy to prevent disease recurrence in patients with ESCC.
