Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational topical herbal cream is a combination product containing extracts from four botanical sources: Turmeric (*Curcuma longa*), Black Seeds (*Nigella sativa*), Flaxseed (*Linum usitatissimum*), and Alfalfa (*Medicago sativa*). Developed by Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, the formulation is designed to treat the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis by leveraging the synergistic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of its active components. The cream is intended for topical application to the affected joint to reduce pain, stiffness, and improve physical function. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial (NCT05723458) to assess its safety and efficacy in adults with knee osteoarthritis.
