typhoid polysaccharide vaccine (Bharat Biotech)

Typbar is a sterile, injectable typhoid vaccine containing purified Vi capsular polysaccharide of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi (Ty2 strain). Developed and manufactured by Bharat Biotech, it is a T-cell independent subunit vaccine indicated for active immunization against typhoid fever in adults and children aged two years and older. Unlike typhoid conjugate vaccines (such as Typbar TCV), Typbar does not contain a carrier protein, which limits its immunogenicity in infants and children under two years of age. It is administered as a single intramuscular injection and requires booster doses every three years to maintain protective immunity.
