Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a typhoid Vi polysaccharide vaccine developed and manufactured by Dalat Pasteur Vaccines (DAVAC) in Vietnam. It is a biologic product designed to provide active immunization against typhoid fever caused by *Salmonella enterica* serovar Typhi. The vaccine consists of the purified Vi capsular polysaccharide antigen, which is a major virulence factor of the bacterium. Upon intramuscular administration, the vaccine induces the production of protective antibodies against the Vi antigen, thereby preventing infection. It is approved for use in Vietnam and is part of the national effort to control typhoid fever.
